My name is Sabrina Phillips and I am thrilled about serving as the School Counselor for Dobbs Elementary. I have been a a Professional School Counselor for 24 years. I began my career with the Atlanta Public School System 24 years ago and I am still as passionate about serving the students today, as I was back then. During this jouney I have acquired experience working with students on all grade levels. I have worked as a high school Counselor for 13 years, Middle School Counselor for 8 years and this is my 3 rd year as an Elementary School Counselor. I bring an array of experiences, knowledge and talents to the Dobbs students and entire community.
My education includes earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a concentration in counseling from Morris Brown College, a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Clark Atlanta University and an Educational Specialist Degree in Leadership and Administration from Lincoln Memorial University. I deem it an honor and a privilege to serve students. It is a joy to work, learn and grow in the field of School Counseling and I am excited to serve the students in ths capacity each and every day. My greatest reward as an educator is the ability to guide students in their academic, social and emotional, and college and career endeavors in order to make a difference in their lives. I believe all students can learn with proper support and positive relationships. I support students indivdually, in small groups and in Classroom Lessons. I also believe that helping students develop life skills is a key to their success. A famous educator once said “children don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” As a counselor I make sure that my students know that they are loved and cared for tremodously.
